Families planning to take their kids for a vacation should consider places which are fun-filled both for the children and the adults. There are so many places to see and tourist attractions in America alone, that sometimes it makes more sense to travel within the States and see the amazing sites and sounds over here. Here I have highlighted tourist destinations that are all within the States, these are all very diverse from each other and cater to families with children of all age groups.
1. Maui

Maui is a great choice for families who want to spend their summer by the beach. It is very popular with tourists, as there are so many activities a person can choose from. The days in Maui are never dull. Famous for the watersports activities, the waves are perfect for children and adults alike. Snorkeling is an amazing experience in Maui, as the variety of fish there, with their bright colors make it an experience to remember for the families. Molokini is a popular spot for amateur snorkelers. Since it is a preserve the fish are accustomed to snorkelers, making it a beautiful sight with hundreds of colorful fish all around them. There is also the Atlantis submarine, which offers rides 100 feet below the surface, with a vast number of species of fish that you can see. Children would especially enjoy the Atlantis ride, seeing sharks, stingrays, turtles, and a lot more in close range.
Haleakala is Maui’s 10,000 foot dormant volcano. It is one of the main tourist attractions, offering the chance to see the biggest dormant volcano crater up close, and can be explored by hiking, biking, driving, or horseback riding. Haleakala is a popular site for tourists offering breathtaking views, and the ride back on a bike is a particular favorite for those adventure seekers.

2. Seattle

Seattle is fast becoming one of the popular metropolitan cities of United States. A beautiful city, with scenic views of mountains and forests, Seattle has a lot to offer for families visiting. The Seattle Space Needle is a popular favorite of tourists who want to see panoramic views of the city over 550 feet above ground. For other tourist attractions, the Pike Place Market is also a great place to visit, as its been there since 1907, still withstanding the old traditional stalls of fruits and vegetables, cheese, etc. If you go to the Pike Place Market, then you should not miss the Pike Place Fish, with fish stalls, and very entertaining stall keepers.

The Experience Music Project is another tourist attraction that would be loved by music lovers wanting to know the history of American popular music of all genres, and if you go there, then on the same site is the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame that should also be checked out.
The Future of Flight Aviation Center is an amazing experience that children would love, where you get to design your own aircraft on a computer, and tour Boeing’s production plant.

3. Phoenix

If you want to fully enjoy the heat of the summer, then you should go to Phoenix and experience the desert in all its glory. The tours that are available for families are a lot to choose from and varied. For a real desert experience, get a tour booked for the Sonoran Desert, where you will be offered hot-air balloon rides, horseback riding, and Hummer rides through the desert. Visit the Desert Botanical Gardens, and experience desert life at its best, with thousands of different plants that are found in the deserts. Guided tours and educational programs are offered, with interactive fun games for children, puppet shows, and night tours through the desert.
Arizona’s Science Center is another attraction that you be visited by families, children will be fascinated by how electricity, plumbing, and carpentry can create a house, and learn about the workings of the brain. The Phoenix Zoo is also popular, where guided tours are available through the 10,000 square-foot Monkey Village with monkeys scampering around you. The Heard Museum has a fantastic collection of American Indian, Hispanic, and cowboy artifacts, that will be educational and entertaining for families.
